This section will primarily be shrines dedicated to my favourite computers but I thought I would give an overview of my history with computers.
I've always loved computers. I would say most people my age were raised by them. I grew up never having my own until I was a teenager so they were always a treat to use and I associated them with so many fun times, often alone browsing the internet when I was visiting a family members home who had a computer. I didn't even have the internet for the first (almost) decade of my life so it was really special to me.
I remember there being an old laptop in my family home when I was a really young kid that ran (I believe) Windows Vista or 7. All I could do on it was play solitaire and make MSPaint masterpieces. I always tried to get onto Internet Explorer with no connection. I used to have a lot of fun just making random folders and .txt files.
My first computer that was truely mine was an Acer Aspire laptop. It ran on Windows 10 and had pretty low specs but I used it for years. I played old games on it, did work on it, made art with it. Eventually the keyboard stopped working and I had to buy another to plug in. It was covered in pen scribbles, missing keys, was totally scratched up. It's in my room as I type this, doesn't work anymore but I speak very fondly about it because I guess it was my first intimate experience with owning a computer. Excuse how bad these old pictures are.
From that I upgraded to my current PC, a Lenovo Legion 5. It has a AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor with a Radeon Graphics card. It only has 8GB but I didn't have a lot of money as an 18 year old. I still use that PC, I'm using it right now. I can't really imagine not having the thing. There was a point this year where I almost broke it (coffee on the keyboard, etc, etc.) and it stopped booting. It totally freaked me out to the point I was having meltdowns at night and I thought about it 24/7. I took it to a repair shop and they told me it would probably be an expensive repair. But then it just randomly started working again. The relief was intense. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would react like this. Machines are very important to us especially in this age and especially to me.
I've always known I feel deeply about technology but only finding a label for it recently. It made me realise I have a crush on a lot of computers so I wanted to make shrines for them to spread the word on how cool they are. Find these shrines on the title bar. Enjoy!
